UP (University of the Philippines)
The University of the Philippines or Pamantasan ng Pilipinas is a state university system in the Philippines, and is the country’s national university.UP has been consistently ranked the top university in the Philippines since its inclusion in several university rankings. In 2011, the University of the Philippines was ranked 62nd in the QS Asian University Rankings, the highest ranked Philippine university.Currently, UP is the fourth best university in Southeast Asia in terms of rankings.It has many campuses which is on Ermita (Manila),Diliman (Quezon City),Los Baños (Laguna),Cebu,Baguio (Benguet),Miagao (Iloilo),and Mindanao.University of the Philippines Admission Test(UPCAT) centers are found in major schools throughout the Philippines, including the different UP campuses. Close to 70,000 applicants take the UPCAT every year with almost 30,000 in UP Diliman alone.The UPCAT is usually held on a Saturday and Sunday in early August with two batches of examinations per day: one in the morning and the other one in the afternoon.

University of Sto. Tomas
The Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, The Catholic University of the Philippines, or simply the University of Santo Tomas (UST), is a private, Roman Catholic research university in Manila, Philippines. Founded on April 28, 1611 by Miguel de Benavides, Archbishop of Manila, it has the oldest extant university charter in the Philippines and in Asia,and is one of the world’s largest Catholic universities in terms of enrollment found on one campus.Several degree programs have been accredited by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as Centers of Excellence and Centers of Development. The University transferred to its present campus in 1927 when the Dominicans deemed the Intramuros campus inadequate for the University’s growing population.
